Gust R. Abelson, 87, of Belvidere, died Tuesday, September 18, 2012 in Homebridge Care Center after a long illness. He was born on June 30, 1925 in Hurley, Wisconsin; the son of John J. and Julia (Kolu) Abelson. Gust married Ruth Ann Hendrickson in Hurley in 1946. He worked as a Logger for a Saw Mill. Gust was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Ironwood, Michigan. Gust enjoyed outdoor activities especially hunting, fishing and trapping. He is survived by his daughter, Carol (David) Engstrom and son, Dennis (Kathy) Abelson and several grandchildren. Gust is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ruth Ann, a sister and a brother.
