IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Grant C.
Meyers
April 5, 1963 – November 14, 2021
LIVE STREAM
My beloved son, Grant Colin Meyers left his earthly life & now he walks with the angels. His enlarged heart quit beating on Sunday afternoon, November 14, 2021. Grant was a one of a kind, if you met him you never forgot him. He was likable, easy-going, happy, funny & his laugh was unforgettable.
Grant entered my life on April 5, 1963 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Belvidere, IL. He was the best baby ever born, he ate, slept & never cried. What a joy!! Grant's father was the late Frank P. Meyers & I am his mother, Kay L. Meyers. Grant was raised on our farm & followed Frank everywhere, he rode with his dad on tractors, combines, & grain trucks. When school age, he rode the bus to Washington School, Jr. High & Belvidere High School. Grant was highly intelligent & graduated 4th highest in his class at Belvidere High in 1981. Grant went on to the University of IL & graduated in 1985. He then went to Palmer Chiropractic School, graduated in 1988. He practiced Chiropractic in Michigan for a few years, but he missed family & the farm, so came back to Belvidere. He was the happiest working with his dad back on the farm.
In 1999, Grant started working at the Chrysler Assembly Plant, he quickly became team leader & was well respected by everyone on his team. In 2005, he studied & passed his realtor exams. He was a good salesman, & enjoyed showing & selling homes to his prospective customers. Grant was still working at Chrysler Fiat & Century 21 at the time of his death. Grant had many friends, who shared his love of the 4th of July & fireworks, hunting on our farm, boating on Lake Geneva, snowmobiling in Wisconsin, scuba diving & The Boone County Fair.
Grant is survived by his mother; brother, Ross O. Meyers; niece, Carmen Meyers & nephew, Sean Meyers.
