Belvidere, IllinoisGrant J. Hulstedt, 45, of Belvidere, IL died Thursday evening, September 19, 2013 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center following a five month battle with cancer. Grant was born August 27, 1968 in Belvidere the son of Gerald C. and Lynne A. (Peterson) Hulstedt. He married Michelle E. Johnson on March 24, 1990 in Belvidere. Grant was a farmer. He also worked, over the years, for Wallem International, DeKalb Implement, Shappert Engineering and Gallano Trucking. Grant was a Union-Pacific Steam Locomotive enthusiast, a World War II history buff and an excellent metal fabricator who enjoyed restoring vintage vehicles. Grant also enjoyed snowmobiling, three-wheeling, target shooting and model railroading.Grant is loved and will be missed by his wife, Michelle; children Heidi, Wyatt, Garrett all at home; parents, Gerald and Lynne of Belvidere; brother, Greg (Jane) Hulstedt of Belvidere; mother and father in-law Marvin and Janice Johnson of Belvidere; brother in-law, Steve (Shelly) Johnson of Mount Juliet, TN; sister in-law Dawn (Bob) Brunschon of Poplar Grove, IL; numerous uncles, aunts cousins, nieces and nephews. Grant is preceded in death by his Maternal and Paternal Grandparents.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in care of the family for educational expenses.
