Gordon D. Keast, 87, of Belvidere, IL died peacefully, Friday, March 7, 2014 in Northwood's Care Center after a lingering illness. Gordon was born January 1, 1927 in Belvidere, IL the son of George and Jenny (Setterquist) Keast. He farmed all his life and in retirement he worked for Rock Valley College. Gordy was a veteran of the US Army, a member of the VFW, Moose Ledge and Coon Creek Casters.
Gordon is survived by his children, Joy (David) Lane of Rockford and Walter (Myra) Keast of Alameda, CA and four grandchildren. Gordon is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie and his parents.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2014 in Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services: Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Chapel, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL with Rev. Dan Schenck officiating. A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials can be given in care of Coon Creek Casters in Gordy's memory.
