Gordon P. Fitch, 83, of Belvidere, IL died Wednesday morning, April 25, 2007 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center after a short illness. Gordon was born January 20, 1924 in Belvidere the son of George and Alice (Tobyne) Fitch. He married Dorothy A. Rosborough on June 19, 1948 in Rockford, IL. Gordon farmed for 20 years and then went to work for several manufacturing companies, retiring from Rockford Automation. He was a member of First Baptist Church, County Line Grange, raised horses, and dabbled in painting. Gordon loved his family, spending time with his children and antiquing with his wife.Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Belvidere, children, John (Margaret) Fitch of Poplar Grove, Kathy (Doug) Loy of Caledonia; grandchildren, Amanda (John) Fultz, Megan (Robert) Magnuson, Adam Fitch, Jennifer Loy and Ned Loy; sister, Celestia Matheson and numerous nieces and nephews.Gordon is preceded in death by his parents and 11 brothers and sisters.
