Gordon L. Carlson, 82, passed away July 25, 2015 in Northwoods Care Center in Belvidere, IL. Gordon was born December 8, 1932, the son of David and Esther Carlson. He graduated from Belvidere High School in 1950. Gordon married Wilma Wascher on November 5, 1954 at Evangelical Covenant Church in Belvidere. They enjoyed 60 years together. Gordon was a dairy farmer for many years, and then went on to work for the Harvard School District #50 as a custodian and a bus driver for 19 years. Gordon enjoyed John Deere tractors, and watching Chicago Cubs games.

He is loved and will be missed by his wife of 60 years, Wilma; 2 daughters, Jodell Carlson and Darla Seaward; 7 grandchildren, Amy and Timothy Carlson, Bethany (Don) Shinn, Nathan, Andrea, and Jenny Seaward, Alicia (Jamie) Jackman; 4 great-grandchildren, Dominick, Noah, Violet, and William; sister, Marjorie Carlson, and 2 nieces. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Barbara; brother, Merlin Carlson; nephew, Daniel Carlson; sister-in-law, Marilyn Carlson.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008 with Rev. Scott Nellis officiating. A visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial in Garden Prairie Cemetery.
