Gloria G. Marquez, 59, of Belvidere, died Saturday, March 15, 2014 in O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center following a long illness. Born on April 17, 1954 in Dilley, Texas. Gloria was raised by Juanita Hernandez. She graduated from Marengo High School. Gloria worked for Arnold Engineering as a grinder. She married Salvador C. Marquez in Marengo, Illinois on January 3, 1975. Gloria was a member of St. James Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, fishing with her husband, cooking and hosting family functions. She is survived by her husband, Salvador; 2 children, Rosa (Aaron) Honert, and Salvador (Kristina) Marquez, Jr. 4 grandchildren, Trinity and Addison Honert; Tyler and Olivia Marquez; and a brother, Freddy (Susan) Hernandez and a host of other family and friends. A Public Visitation for friends and family will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014 in Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Chapel 218 W. Hurlbut Av. Belvidere, IL. A Private Funeral Mass will be held with The Rev. Brian Geary, Pastor of St. James Catholic Church, celebrant. Cremation will be held with private burial at a later date.
