Gloria Elaine Greenhow-Mowers, 95, of Belvidere, IL, went to be with the Lord on November 7, 2023. She was born on November 26, 1927 to the late Louise (Kaltenbach) and Herman Schmidt. Born and raised in Belvidere, graduated from Belvidere High School, class of 1945. Gloria was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed quality time with those she loved, and many visits to the lake with her family. She was a long-time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, and dedicated her time to assisting the church within the Ladies Guild and worked in the office there for over 23 years. Gloria enjoyed doing cross stitch. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her children, Cindy Collins, Susan (Steve) Dahlstrom, and Greg (Sherlene) Greenhow; grandchildren, Kyle (Laura) Collins, Adam (Athena) Collins, Alex Greenhow, Tania (Chris) Blegen; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Owen, and Berkley; brother, Ronald (Bernita) Schmidt; sisters in-law, Diana Greenhow and Darlene Fry; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Predeceased by her husband, Allan Greenhow; parents, Louise and Herman Schmidt; and brothers, David and Maynard Schmidt; brothers in-law, Willard, Robert and Donald Greenhow and George Fry; sisters in-law, Sherry Greenhow and Dory Greenhow; as well as nieces, Donna, Kris, and Karleen; and nephew, Tad.

Gloria's visitation will be Monday, November 13, 2023 at 10am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, located at 1045 Belvidere Rd, Belvidere, IL 61008. Funeral service to follow at 11am. Burial at Highland Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gloria can be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Heritage Woods Belvidere and Northern Illinois Hospice for their care.
