After living a fulfilling life Gloria Brevoort returned to her Heavenly home on Thursday morning, December 18, 2008 in Maple Crest Nursing Home, following a massive brain hemorrhage from which she never regained consciousness. She is survived by her husband, Lowell of 47 years of Belvidere; sons David (Terri) of Oregon, Il; Dean (Jennifer) of Glen Ellyn, Il; and Jason of Belvidere Il, grandchildren James, Josh, Jason and Kara. She is also survived by sisters Emilie (Roger) Lehr of Provo, Utah, Celia (Arlen) Zimmerman of Forreston, Il and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by infant son Jeremy, parents William and Elma (Miller) Niemeier, and niece Lynnette Lehr.She was born March 21, 1942 in Moline, Illinois and graduated from Lena-Winslow High School in Lena, Illinois. She married Lowell on August 18, 1961 in Martintown, WI. Her adult life was spent in Belvidere. Following her graduation from Moline College of Cosmetology she enjoyed a career as a homemaker and beautician in her home shop. For 15 years she served as beautician at Biltmore Nursing Home where she served its residents until her retirement in December 2001. Following her retirement she and Lowell enjoyed spending their winters in Florida, where they rode their Harley to all points of interest. A long time enthusiast of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, she was a member of the local Harley Owners Group, riding out of Kegel Harley -Davidson of Rockford, ILHer faith in God began in Martintown Community Church, where she was confirmed when 15 years old. A member of First United Methodist Church of Belvidere since 1961, she served a number of years in the United Methodist Women's' Circle.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given in care of the church in Gloria's memory.
