Glen D. Ballinger M.M., 91, of Belvidere, IL passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 17,2018 in PA Peterson at the Citadel. Glen was born April 24, 1927 in Baraboo, WI the son of William and Evelyn (Davis) Ballinger. He married Rosalie Reed on June 9, 1947 in Washington DC. Glen was a plant engineer working at W.F. and John Barnes which later became Ingersoll Milling for 37 years retiring in 1989. He proudly served our country with the United States Navy in WWII and served in the South Pacific until after the War. Glen was a Master Mason and member of the Belvidere Masonic Lodge, member of the VFW, American Legion and of First Baptist Church in Belvidere, IL.

He is loved and will be missed by his children, Gary (Pearl) Ballinger, Evelyn (Richard) Spate, Andy (Kathleen) Ballinger, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie House, Joyce Pierce; longtime companion, Edna Ring and her family; special niece Bonnie Pierce, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008 on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:00-10:45 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018 with Masonic Rites at 10:45 a.m. Burial in Belvidere Cemetery.
