Gladys C. Webster, 81, of Belvidere, died Monday, August 29, 2005 in O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center following a short illness. Born May 13, 1924 in Geneva, Illinois to Samuel and Cora (Welles) Isbell. She has lived in Belvidere since 1948, coming here from Batavia, Illinois. Gladys married Maurice C. Webster in San Antonio, Texas July 19, 1943. She was the Owner of Webster's Upholstery Shop for forty years before retiring in 1986. Member of the Belvidere Church of Christ and St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary. She was an avid bowler, participating in many National and State tournaments. She was a member and City secretary for the 600 club. In addition to bowling, she also was a bridge player. She graduated from Batavia High School. She is survived by, Husband, Maurice, Belvidere; a daughter, Kathleen Webster, Rockford; a son, Dana (Vernice) Webster, Michie, Tenn.; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; sister-in-law, Edna Mae Isbell. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Bonnie Evans; 3 sisters, Mildred Stilling, Helen Sipes, Ruth Polko; 4 brothers, Stephen, Kenneth, Lester and Harold Isbell.
