Gladys M. Mootrey, 75, of Rockford, IL and who was a former resident of Garden Prairie, died Tuesday afternoon, January 28, 2014 in the emergency department of OSF St. Anthony Medical Center after a sudden illness. Gladys was born September 29, 1938 in Cook County, IL the daughter of William and Minnie (Plote) Jahn. Gladys graduated from Barrington High School. Gladys was a wonderful Mom and grandmother.

Gladys is loved and will be missed by her children, Dennis (Connie) Mootrey of Belvidere, Daryl (Elizabeth) Mootrey of Decatur, IL, Daniel (Celeste) Mootrey of Belvidere, Derrick (Jennifer) Mootrey of Belvidere, Donna (Mark) Hyser of Belvidere, Denice (Aaron) Goodin of Cherry Valley, Darci (Cecil) Voiles of Belvidere, Dana (Donnie) Bland of Belvidere, Dyan (Steve) Zahurones of Belvidere, 21 Grandchildren; 3 Great-grandchildren; sister, Eleanor Savage of Arlington Heights; brother, Wayne (Nancy) Jahn of Garden Prairie, IL; as well as numerous nieces and nephews whose names all begin with the letter "D".

Gladys is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Shirley Schroeder and Ruth Heimer.
