Gladys M. Luxton, 93, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 30, 2017. Gladys was born in Missouri Valley, IA, on November 25, 1923, daughter of George and Bertha (Tiffey) Coleman. Gladys was married to Eugene A. Luxton for 43 years, living in Garden Prairie until 1966 when they built their dream home on Broadview Ave in Belvidere. Gladys was a china painter, crafter, and loved time in her kitchen, cooking, and baking for others. She had many friends she cherished playing cards, dominoes, and eating out with family and friends.  She traveled abroad a few times. She retired from Arnold Engineering in Marengo.

Gladys is loved and missed by her grandchildren, Christine (Mike) Rakoczy and Clark E. (Amy) Luxton; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brother, Roy (Marjorie) Coleman, sister, Margaret Lawhorn. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Donna Clark, granddaughter, Mary Clark, and grandson, Donald Osburn; and brothers, Lee, Albert, Raymond, and Tom Coleman.

The family of Gladys Luxton would like to also give a huge amount of thanks to Mike Rakoczy, Roy Coleman, and Chuck Schwitters for being so much help to Gladys in different times of her life.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m., until the time of service. Burial in Highland Garden of Memories at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, November 6, 2017.
