Gladys Fry, 90, of Rockford, IL passed away peacefully on January 1, 2019 in Rockford, IL. She was born June 3, 1928 in Herbster, WI, the daughter of Karl and Johanna (Josefsen) Sorensen. Gladys married the love of her life, Ishmael Fry, on October 25, 1947. Gladys was a seamstress by trade for numerous years in the Belvidere area. She enjoyed playing bingo and board games, but most importantly she loved spending time with her family. In recent years, Gladys treasured visits and spiritual support from Major Karlene Lenz of the Rockford Salvation Army.

Gladys is loved and will be missed by her children; Christine (Darrell) Lawrence, Patricia (Gary) Ferguson, Edward (Vickey) Fry, Steven (Bertha) Fry, Wenna (Larry) Beeman as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ishmael; parents; siblings, Einar, Art, Walter, Victor, Robert, Carl, Esther and Eve.

Gladys' family appreciates the loving care provided by the staff of Alden Debes during her ten-year stay.

Private family service will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials to the family to establish a memorial later.
