Gilberto V. Godinez, Sr. 82, of Rockford, died Friday, August 23, 2013 in his home following a long illness. He was born September 1, 1930 in Mexico; the son of Mr. & Mrs. Jesus Godinez. Gilberto was married to Maria E. Ramiriz in Mexico. She preceded him in death. He was employed in food production more than 30 years at General Mills Co. He attended St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere. He is survived by four children, Enrique, Gilberto, Jr., Ernesto and Veronica and grandsons, Lee Godinez and Eddie Moreira, granddaughter, Lucy Godinez, and great grandchild, Lincoln Godinez-khoeler.
