Gerald W. Schultz, 74 of Belvidere, IL passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Presence Saint Anne Center in Rockford, IL. Gerald was born February 22, 1941 in Belvidere, son of Amos and Wannetta (Hammond) Schultz-Butz. He graduated from Belvidere High School, class of 1959. Gerald married Harriet E. Moore on March 3, 1962 in Durand, IL. He retired from UPS in 1990 after 25 years of service. Gerald served as a Teamsters union steward for most of those years. He played drums for many years in the "Jim & Jer" band, playing at many local clubs. Gerald worked at Lou Bachrodt and Jack Wolf in the parts department; also as a security guard at Outdoor World for several years.

Gerald is loved and will be missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Harriet; daughters, Candy (Dale) Rabe, Teresa (Doug) Heuer, Melissa (Paul) Severson, Jennifer (Jay) Voiles; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 special nieces, Margaret (Don) Jensen, Ruth Reed, their 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; siblings, twin brother, George Schultz, Darrell (Kathy) Schultz, Michael (Linda) Butz; sister-in-law, Margaret Schultz, Sharon Stanton; several nieces and nephews. Gerald is preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Charles Butz; brothers, James and John (Jack) Schultz, Gordon Butz.

Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Hunter United Methodist Church,3315 Hunter Road, Caledonia, IL 61011 with Rev. Tom Hay officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-3 P.M, with Masonic Rites at 3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
