Poplar Grove, ILGerald R. Phoenix, 76, of Hixton, WI and formerly of Roscoe, IL, died Thursday morning, June 23, 2011 in the loving care of her daughter in Poplar Grove after a short illness. Gerald was born August 22, 1934 in Loves Park, IL the son of Frank and Minnie Phoenix. He married Hazel Ann Miller and following her death her married Judith Ann Erickson. Gerald worked as a punch-press operator for Warner Brake in Roscoe, prior to his retirement. He moved to Hixton, WI eleven years ago where he was involved in the community; enjoyed lawn work and his John Deere Tractors; cooking for friends and making wine.Gerald is loved and will be missed by his daughters, Julie (Brent) Witte of Rockford, IL, Sandra (Francis) Moon of Poplar Grove, IL, Ruth (Dave) Chenoweth of Jefferson, WI, Tressa Morgan of Rockton, Tracy Phoenix of Machesney Park, Il and Geri Phoenix of Roscoe, IL; sisters Doris Lenius of Machesney Park, Il and Betty Fisher of Florida; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, wives, Hazel and Judith; daughter, Linda; brothers, Donald, William, Arthur; and one grandson.
