Gerald R. Kirchner, 73, of Belvidere, IL, passed away Monday, January 4, 2016. Gerald was born February 27, 1942 in Detroit, MI, son of Jake and Hazel (Briggs) Kirchner. He retired from General Mills in Belvidere. Gerald was a member of the Eagles Club and American Legion in Belvidere. He was a huge baseball fan, especially the Atlanta Braves and Detroit Tigers. Gerald loved music, and was an avid coin collector.

Gerald is loved and will be missed by his siblings, Eileen (David) Schultz of Belvidere, IL, and Donald Kirchner of Belvidere, IL; sister-in-law, Gloria Kirchner of Belvidere, IL, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Kirchner, and sister, Janet Woolman.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 11, 2016 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m, Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
