George Robert Frederick Weber

George Weber was born on May 17, 1927 in Brown Deer, Wisconsin, the son Louis and Anna (Kopp) Weber. George married Donna Kelly in October 1954 in Madison, WI. Donna died in June 1963, leaving two year old son Ronald and George. George married Lucille Schlachtenhaufen– Olson, a widow with her own daughter, Lynne Marie. The new family was formed on August 20, 1967 in Milwaukee, WI.
George received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1951, and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering degree in 1954 at the University of Wisconsin; Madison, WI. He worked 15 years as an Aero Space Engineer at AC Electronics in Milwaukee, WI. For 25 years, George worked as a Logic and Control Engineer on Automatic Machinery for the Auto and Airplane Manufacturers in Rockford, IL.
George was in the last group of men drafted in World War II, serving as a sergeant in the Occupation Army in Germany. He is a former member of Mount Hope Lutheran Church (West Allis, WI), Our Savior's Lutheran Church (Rockford, IL) , Redeemer Lutheran Church (Mountain Home, AR) and most recently, Christ Lutheran Church (Belvidere, IL).
George was a proud quarterback and captain of the Custer High School Football team. He was a proud Green Bay Packer fan. An ardent fisherman, George was one of the founders of the "Rod and Reel Club" in Mountain Home, AR. He was also an enthusiastic gardener, known for his rose garden in Milwaukee and his magnificent garden at his home in Mountain Home, AR during his retirement. He was a volunteer for the Mountain Home Christian Clinic and Food Pantry.
George is survived by his wife, Lucille, his children, Ronald Weber, Lynne (Doug) DuPont, his grandchildren, Daniel and Melinda DuPont, along with numerous nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by Donna Kelly, his parents and two sisters, Shirley Troudt and Marion Obbink.
The family extends appreciation to Hospice Care of America for their excellent caring service to George and his family.
Memorial Service will be at Christ Lutheran Church (425 Riverside Rd. Belvidere, IL 61008) on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m., until 10:45 a.m., prior to the service.
