Morgan
October 24, 1944 – February 18, 2022
George W. Morgan of Belvidere, IL passed away February 18, 2022 with his wife and family by his side. He lived his life for his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. George had a love for working on all types of vehicles and all things farming. He enjoyed being there for all his family and friends, even if just to sitting around and shooting the shit. George was born October 24, 1944, in Washington Township, Indiana, to Thomas Wayne Morgan and Frances Hershman-Morgan. His family of 15 children and parents eventually moved to Belvidere, Illinois. George attended school in Belvidere, which is the same place that he met his beautiful wife, Lonnie. Prior to him being inducted into the service, George and Lonnie were married on June 11, 1966. He then was called to duty in the Armed services on September 25, 1967, until January 15, 1969, with one year in Vietnam. During his service, he earned several medals and awards. Throughout their almost 56 years together, they lived in Belvidere, Illinois then moved to continue their adventures in Berlin, Wisconsin in 2000. George and Lonnie returned to Illinois, April 2019, and lived with their eldest son, George (GG), in Byron, Illinois. Throughout his life, George made an impact on everyone he met. His infectious smile, laugh, and love for his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family was felt by anyone he met.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lonnie Morgan. His three sons, George Morgan, Joe (Rachel) Morgan and Samuel (Bob) Spears. One daughter, Diana (Pat) Fannan. Five grandsons', Paul, Brandon, Levi, Chase and Sawyer. Four granddaughters', Samantha, Harley, Vanessa and Kensie. Two great-grandchildren Mikey and Ashlynn. Five brothers', Johnny, Robert, Thomas, Peter (Candy), and Daniel. Five sisters, Patsy Ostrander, Sue (Dale) Fidder, Corrine (Jim) Hartwig, Nancy Snow, Mary Harbrison; and several nieces and nephew.
He is proceeded in death by his mom and dad, Mother and Father-in-law, infant son, William, infant granddaughter, Rainey, four brothers, Leon, Allen, Samuel, and Mike, as well as his brother-in-law Jim Long. There will be a private family service and burial on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. Flowers and Condolences can be sent to Anderson Funeral & Cremation Services, 218 W.
