"Boney" Williams
August 2, 1936 – November 20, 2022
George A. "Boney" Williams, 86, of Belvidere, passed away on November 20, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. George was born on August 2, 1936 in Russellville, TN the son of Thurman and Lorena (Everett) Williams. He married Carolyn Carter on February 13, 1965 in Marengo, IL. George worked in maintenance for Belvedere Company for 17 years retiring in 1999. He served in the United States Marine Corp and Airforce during the Korean War. George was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a past member of the Moose, past trustee and chairman with the Eagles Club, and past vice chairman and chairman for the Boone County Democrats. George enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include daughters, Lorena Willams of Belvidere, Victoria Longtin of Bradley, IL, Karen Sump of Beaverton, OR, Mary Lynn (Steve) Lowrimore of Bremerton, WA; sons, Robert Williams of Madison, AL, Allen (Sarah) Williams of Davis, IL, Beryl Lawrence II of Smithfield, VA, Bradley (Wendy) Lawrence of Pearl City, IL, Douglas (Kimberly) of Sherwood, OR; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, one sister Betty O'Neal of Rockford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 49 years, Carolyn; children, Kristine Jullum, Brett "Mike" Lawrence, David Hansen, Jeff Moore; one grandson, Dennis Lawrence, and brother-in-law, Larry O'Neal. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 2, 2022 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008 with Rev. Dan Lashley, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Belvidere, IL officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial in Belvidere Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Northern Illinois Hospice, 4214 Newbury Road, Rockford, IL 61108 or National Parkinson Foundation at www.parkinson.org in George's name.
