Belvidere, IllinoisGene Lein, 67 of Belvidere and formerly of Jump River, Wisconsin died Tuesday evening, April 21, 2009 at home with his family at his side. Gene was born July 29, 1941 in Medford, Wisconsin the son of Oscar and Garnett (Johnson) Lien. He retired from the Chrysler Corporation-Belvidere Assembly Plant after 30 years of service. Gene was a member of the U.A.W and Hannibal Presbyterian Church. He served our country in the US Army with the 370th Infantry. Survivors include his children, Timothy (Julia) Lein of Belvidere, IL and Shelly Lein of Itasca, IL; grandchildren, Cassie Lein, Vanessa Lein, Clairissa Lein, Samantha and Stephen Strobel; sisters and brothers, Joyce (Don) Priest of CA, Marie Brooks of WI, Rosemary Smith of WI, Ruth (Ed) Holmes of CA, Judy (Charlie) Wilbur of WI. Gene is predeceased by his parents, infant daughter, Penny Jean Lein; sister, Lorna Lein, Brother in-law, Fred Brooks and aunt, Nell Herman.
