Garry W. Glass, 68, of Belvidere, died surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 26, 2011 in Swedish-American Hospital following a short illness. Garry was born on October 27, 1942 in Grayson, Kentucky, the son of Herbert and Annie (Everman) Glass. He was employed as a pipefitter at Chrysler for 35 years before retiring. Garry was a member of the Southern Baptist faith as well as a member of the U.A.W. local 1268. He enjoyed playing checkers and going to the casino. He is survived by his two sons, Richard (Debra) Glass, Belvidere; and Michael (Tammy) Glass, Davis, Illinois; six grandchildren, eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Debbie Kirk and Janice (Frank) Goebel; longtime companion, Anne Castro, Belvidere; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gail and Randall Glass.
