Gale S. Webber, Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather. April 27, 1915-April 5, 2005Born on the original homestead- son of Earl and Maude Barr Webber. He was a graduate of Belvidere High School with the class of 1934. He married his high school sweetheart, Muriel A. Cornell on June 20, 1934. They had a close and beautiful marriage for over 70 years. He was a very special husband and father. He lived on and farmed the original homestead established by his family in 1845. He was happiest when out working his fields and bringing in the harvest. He has a great passion for the out-of-doors. He loved animals and nature in general. While in high school, he was on the football squad and attended many games over the years. He loved sports and had a great passion for music. He was a believer in quality education. He was a former District 100 school board member and served as secretary while on the board. He was very active in the formation of the school consolidation. He was a member of the Boone County Survey Committee and served as President of Flora Township PTA. He was employed at Belvidere Chrysler Corp. for 10 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Local 1268. He and Muriel enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in Punta Gorda, Florida. Most of all he enjoyed his family life on the Webber farm. His favorite place to relax was out on the front porch swing overlooking his farm.He is survived by daughters; Kay (Robert) Wilson, and Sherry Webber, both of Belvidere, two grandsons; Michael Gale (Danice) Loveridge of Poplar Grove, and Jeffrey A. Loveridge of Belvidere, great-grandson; Brandon J. Loveridge, and two step great-grandchildren; Randall Dalgard of Elizabeth, IN, and Racheal Dalgard of Winnebago, IL., and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, daughters; Patricia A. Cook and Carol Sue (infant), and sister Gladys Kendall.
