Frederick Louis Countryman was born Oct. 4th, 1933, in Chicago, Il. to Willard and Loretta (Hine) Countryman. Fred enjoyed a happy childhood in Chicago, then in the community of Davenport, Iowa. Shortly after the onset of the Korean War, Fred was drafted into the United States Army. During his 3-year tenure in the Army, Fred received and completed training as a communications and radar technician. Upon completing his military service, Fred began a 55-year career in the telecommunications industry.

Fred married his first wife, Belva (Doyle) Countryman, in Bettendorf, Iowa, on Oct. 31st, 1953. During their life together, Fred and Belva settled in Kankakee, Il. and raised five children.

In Dec. 2006, Fred met Patricia Deards and they soon became inseparable. Fred and Pat married Mar. 29th, 2008, together, they spent their golden years traveling to many locations nationally and internationally.

Fred was an avid handyman and Knight of Columbus. Fred enjoyed musical theater, live plays, movies, western electric music, ice cream, and being hopelessly stubborn.

Fred is preceded in death by his father Willard, mother Loretta, sisters Alice and Barbara, sons Gregory and Eric, daughter Catherine, and wife Patricia.

Fred is survived by his first wife, Belva, daughters Christine and Valerie, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, stepdaughter Lenore, and her husband, Ken Rogman.

Visitation will be at Anderson Funeral Home, 218 Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL from 9:00-9:45am on December 29, 2021 with Praying the Rosary from 9:45am-10:15am.  Funeral Mass will be held at Saint James Catholic Church, 402 Church St. Belvidere Il. 61008, December 29, 2021 at 11:00am.
