Franklyn W. Flynn, 98 of Poplar Grove, IL passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 6, 2016 in Brookdale Assisted Living.  Franklyn was born May 2, 1917 in Poplar Grove, Illinois the son of William and Ethel (Shackell) Flynn.  Franklyn attended Poplar Grove and Capron Schools. Franklyn married Rosemary McGee on August 7, 1948 in Edgewood, Illinois, they celebrated 66 years together. Franklyn's true passion was farming his land and helping his children raise live stock.  He was Co-owner of Hills Farm Equipment for 26 years, after which he did custodial work for the North Boone School District for 12 years. He was a member of North Boone Fire District #3 where he served as a volunteer fireman for 31 years. Franklyn made his spiritual home at Poplar Grove United Methodist Church.

Franklyn is loved and will be missed by his children, Nancy Ann (John) Highstreet, William Allen (Joy) Flynn, Kevin Donald Flynn, Marilyn Kay (Tom) Lawrence; grandchildren, Lucas Christopher (Brenda) Flynn, Jason Edwin Highstreet, Marcie Elizabeth (Colin Gillette) Flynn; great grandchildren, Daniel Highstreet, Jacqulyn Highstreet, Gabriella Flynn, Izabelle Flynn, Tessabele Flynn, Liam Flynn, Molly Flynn. Franklyn is preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary; parents; sister, Mary Elizabeth Matis and daughter-in-law, Patsy Flynn.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2016 in Poplar Grove United Methodist Church, 105 E. Grove St, Poplar Grove, IL 61065 with Rev. Chirstopher Druce Jones officiating.  Visitation will be from 11:00 to service time Tuesday at the Church. Burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery.
