Franklin D. Friend, 66, of Belvidere, Illinois died Saturday afternoon April 1, 2006 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center after a short illness. Frank was born December 27, 1939 in Goodman, MO the son of George and Inez (Harper) Friend. He married Patricia Emhke on September 16, 1961 in Chicago, IL; she died February 5, 2001. He then married Harriette Barnes on January 4, 2003 in Belvidere. Frank served in the US Air Force and was a member of Central Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Harriette; children, Karen (Brian) Wikstrom, Sandra (Tony) Dytrych, Michael (Erin) Friend, Kelly (Chris) Montrose; step-children, Jeff Barnes, Brad Barnes, John Barnes; grandchildren, Joshua, Amber, Franklin, Ashley, Hailey, Kaitlyn, Kyle, Colin, Cameron; 4 step-grandchildren; 4 step great-great grandchildren; brothers, Dewey (Jean) Friend, Teddy Friend,; sister, Norma Krokowskia and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Virgil, Lyle, Bill and sister, Margaret.
