Poplar Grove, ILFrank Lausten Smith, 86, of Poplar Grove, IL died Saturday morning, September 11, 2010 in his home after a lingering illness. Frank was born May 24, 1924 in Chicago, IL the son of Frank Fisher and Hazel (Lausten) Smith. He married Elizabeth Trainer on March 27, 1951 in State College, PA. Frank's work career was devoted to Public Relation. He graduated form the University of Illinois in 1951. He was a member of Poplar Grove United Methodist Church and was active with the Ludington, MI, Kiwanis, where he served one term as president, and the Georgetown, DC, Kiwanis where he served two terms as president. Frank was also a veteran of the Army Air Force. He is loved and will be missed by his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Smith; children Frances Elizabeth Hamamouche and Laurence Trainer Smith; as well as three grandchildren.
