Frank John Bauer, Jr., 84, of Poplar Grove, died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 in Swedish American Hospital. Born June 7, 1928 in Chicago; son of Frank John and Frances Barbara (Donaubauer) Bauer. He attended Sauganash Elementary and Capron High School. Was married to Virginia Glendenning. Frank worked on the farm with his parents and sister until his retirement in the 1990's. He loved his wife and family. He enjoyed antiques, American Indian history and artifacts, and his pets, including many dogs and cats. He liked to treasure hunt his way through 15 to 20 garage sales per week during the summer.Survived by his nieces Robin (George Benas) Davies, Marie Davies, Julie (Scott) Mathys; nephews Thomas Willis, Jeffrey (Carol) Willis; grandnieces Marie, Barbara, and Emily Benas, Claire Mathys, Sarah and Rachel Willis; grandnephew Edward Gullickson; brother-in-law Charles (Chuck) Willis. Predeceased by his parents, wife Virginia, sisters Marie Bauer, Florence Willis, and Shirley Davies.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Blaine United Methodist Church.
