Francis F. Tate, 86, of Belvidere, IL, passed away April 20, 2018. He was born January 7,1932, the son of Hulan and Anna (Dodson) Tate. Francis married the love of his life Janet on July 22, 1956 in Garden Prairie, IL. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army Combat Engineers in the Korea Conflict. Francis was a life member of the Local 150 International Union of Operating Engineers and life member of the VFW. He was passionate about trap shooting and collecting carnival glass. Francis made his spiritual home at First United Methodist Church in Belvidere.

Francis is loved and will be missed by his wife, Janet; children, Jeffery (Cindy) Tate, Valerie Tate, Reed (Connie) Tate; grandchildren, Allan Tate, Andrew Tate and brother-in-law, Mark (Christine) Stevens. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty and brother-in-law Larry Stevens.

A Celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at First United Methodist Church, 610 Bonus Ave, Belvidere, IL with Rev. Monty Fox officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 until the time of service. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials to Honor Flight Chicago.
