Frances Briggs, 89 of Kirkland, IL passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 15, 2018 in Maple Crest Care Centre in Belvidere, IL.  Frances was born November 22, 1928 in Belvidere, IL the daughter of Franklin and Gladys (Wilson) Morehead. Following her graduation from Belvidere High School, Frances worked for a short time at Tripp Insurance, until she married Ralph R. Briggs in Cherry Valley on January 14, 1951.  Following her marriage, Frances and Ralph farmed together on their land in Kirkland.  Frances enjoyed gardening, spending time outside; sewing when she was younger and reading in her later years.  Over the years, Frances attended the Flora Community Church.

Frances is loved and will be missed by her children, Larry Briggs, of Kirkland, Dan (Sherry) Briggs of Plymouth, MN, Alan Briggs of Belvidere, IL; grandchildren, Nicole (Josh) Wendorf of Hartford, WI, Chadd (Ashley) Briggs of Rockford, MN; great-grandchildren, Ali, Lexi and Ruby; sister, Audrey (Don) Johnson of Brooklyn, WI; brother, Marlyn (Jacque) Morehead of Rockford, IL; nieces and nephews.  Frances is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ralph.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 20, 2018 in Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Avenue, Belvidere, IL.  Burial in Flora Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.,Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the funeral home.  Memorials can be given in care of Flora Community Church in Frances' name.  To share a remembrance, please visit www.AndersonFCS.com
