Floyd John Pundt, age 93, of Belvidere, Illinois, died Friday afternoon July 15, 2005 in Northwoods Care Center after a lengthy illness. Floyd was born March 31, 1912 in Belvidere, IL the son of John and Laura (Bahling) Pundt. He married Winnifred Burow on May 25, 1935; she predeceased him on October 25, 1975. Floyd then married Violet (Johnson) Van Sickle in June of 1977; she predeceased him on July 7, 1993.Floyd was a conservation officer for 25 years for the Department of Conservation. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 295, Illinois Police Association, ISEA-Retiree's Association and the Illinois Sheriffs Association. Floyd loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Floyd was a gifted carpenter and general "Mr. Fix It" of most anything that needed fixing.Survivors include his daughter Audrey (Ray) DeWane of Belvidere, IllinoisGrandchildren, Steven (Becky) DeWane, Lori (Jerry) Schedler, Mark (Patti) DeWane, Julie (Tim) Dumler, John DeWane; great-grandchildren, Emily and Joseph DeWane, Caleb, Paul and Jesse Schedler, Amelia and Abby DeWane, Jacob and Sarah Dumler; sister, Evelyn (Herman) Strawn of Clinton, WI and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Floyd is predeceased by his parents, wives Winnifred and Violet; sisters, Gladys Armbruster and Lucille Johnson; brother Edward Pundt, and special friend, Leona James.Floyd's family wishes to acknowledge the Swedish American Heart Management Clinic, Dr. Robert Harner and his staff, Dr. Steven Diamond and his staff, Northwood's Care Center and staff and Roger Ainsworth for the gentle and compassionate care given to them and Floyd.
