Rockford, ILFloy Mae Lane, 92, of Rockford, IL died peacefully Saturday morning, July 7, 2012 at the Emeritus Senior Living after a lingering illness. Floy was born January 2, 1920 in Franklin Township, Kirkland, IL the daughter of Lloyd and Ila (Strawn) Banks. She attended school in Kirkland and competed business courses at Browns Business College She married Charles Lane on October 6, 1943 in the parsonage of the Belvidere United Methodist Church, Belvidere, IL. Floy and Charles enjoyed going to Florida in the winter months. Floy was a member of the Kirkland United Methodist Church and Martha Circle of the church; she j oined the Flora Grange in 1934 and transferred to th Beaver Valley Grange where she was a 78 year member; Floy was also a member of the Boone County Pomona Grange, Illinois State Grange and the National Grange. Floy was also active in the Boone Co. Fair Home Economics Building Prior to her retirement, Floy worked as a bookkeeper for 30 years for PAG in Garden Prairie.Floy is loved and will be missed by her son Gene (Mary Jean) Lane of Kirkland; grandchildren Jackie Hill of Kirkland, IL, Jeffrey (Kammie) Lane of Kirkland, IL; great-grandson Jarrett Hill; nieces Cindy (Roger) Lucke, Susan (Steve) Price; nephews Martin (Cindy) Banks, Allan (Tammy) Banks; great- nieces and nephews; sister in-law Mildred Banks of Belvidere, IL. Floy is predeceased by her parents, husband Charles, brothers Marlyn and Melvin Banks; sister in-law Myrna Banks.Special thanks to St. Anthony Medical Center, Dr. Molinari, Dr. Korkmaz and their staff of nurses, who provided exceptional care given to Floy at Loyalton (Emeritus of Rockford and Serenity Hospice).

Memorials can be given in care of Cystic Fibrosis and Serenity hospice in Floy's name.
