Firmin LeClercq "Lee" Bozeman, 72, of Capron, IL passed away peacefully, Early Sunday morning, December 12, 2021, in his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Lee was born on May 14, 1949, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana the son of Firmin LeClercq and Ann (Walkosz) Bozeman, Sr. Lee married the best thing that ever happened to him, Laurie L. Greves, on April 29, 1972, in Salem Lutheran Church, Blue Island, IL. To their union, two beautiful children would be born. Lee's love for music brought him to the music industry. He began driving a road truck and setting up equipment and finished his music career as the road manager for the rock group STYX in 1974, for the love of his family. Lee went on to continue his father's business Superior Coatings, moving the business to Belvidere, Il in 1980. Lee retired at the age of sixty-four and his son Michael assumed operation of their business. At his core, Lee loved music. Second to his love of music, was his love of being in the great outdoors. He was an avid fly fisherman who had an immense talent for tying flies; he enjoyed skiing, especially at Steamboat, Co. Lee enjoyed gardening, helping Heather and Michael develop the skills and talent of a gardener. He had a skill of making doll house furniture and cherished the time spent with his dad, father in-law and other relatives building his beautiful log home in Capron. He enjoyed traveling, often remembering the trip to Utah with Michael, where they were on a cattle drive and the trips to Louisiana with his children and grandchildren, visiting the place Lee grew up. Lee was a loyal friend, staying connected with classmates and friends on a weekly basis; he was also a faithful friend to the many rescue dogs he and Laurie brought into their home, he loved them and cared for them.
Lee is loved by so many and will be missed by his wife, Laurie; mother, Ann Bozeman; children, Heather (Zach Hansen) Bozeman, Michael (Marcy) Bozeman; grandchildren, Noah (Danie), Hope, Anna, Paisley, Kane; numerous nieces and nephews especially Chris, Kelly, and Tim. Lee is preceded in death by his father, Firmin, L. Bozeman, Sr.
The visitation for Lee will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, December 16, 2021, with a time for remembering Lee at 7:30p.m. at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Avenue, Belvidere, IL 61008. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2021, at St. James Catholic Church, 402 Church Street, Belvidere, IL with Rev. Brian Geary, pastor celebrating. Burial will be in Belvidere Cemetery.
