F. H. Mike Sawyer, 81, Weyauwega, Wisconsin, died Monday, August 22, 2005 in Weyauwega Health Care Center following a long illness. Born June 6, 1924 in Belvidere, Illinois to Harry and Mollie (Huff) Sawyer. Mike lived most of his life in the Belvidere, Illinois area before moving to Tomahawk, Wisconsin 4 years ago. He married Mary Gritzmacher in Belvidere on July 5, 1947. He worked in Road Construction for many years. Veteran of WWII serving in the South Pacific from 1944 to 1945 on the U.S.S. Trathon. Attended Immanuel Lutheran Church and Belvidere High School. He was member of the Carpenters Labor International of North America Local 1035 and lifetime member of the V.F.W. John Hugo Kaiser Belvidere Post #1461. He is survived by son, Lon (Marcia) Sawyer, Fort Garland, Colorado and daughter, Linda (Stephen) Cole, Tomahawk, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Heather (Jason) Breitenfeld; Michelle (Eric) Van Aken; Brandon (Sandy) Cole; Katie Sawyer; Kris Cole; 3 great-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents and wife.
