Evert G. Carlson, 89, of Belvidere, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 in his home following a long illness. He was born on September 3, 1920 in Barnum, Minnesota; the son of George and Anna (Mattson) Carlson. Evert married Juanita N. Miller in Rockford on September 20, 1947. Evert attended schools in Barnum and received his GED in 1966. He was employed as a Tool and Die Maker. Evert is a veteran of WWII serving in the 92nd Ordinance Company as a Tech. Sergeant He is a survivor of D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge. Evert was a member of the American Legion, Boone post #77; the County line Grange; and fifty year member of the Rockford Sportsman Club. He enjoyed tractors and gas engines. Evert is survived by his wife, Juanita; three daughters, Pam Ogren, Kirkland, IL, Sheryl (Stevenson) Wylde and Terrie (Pete) Pyszka, both of Belvidere; eleven grandchildren, Peter Michael (Allisa) Pyszka; Laura (Lloyd) Meyers; Tim Rhodes; Tori Ogren; Steven (Katie) Wylde; Tiffany Ogren; Sarah Pyszka; Ted Ogren; Andrea Pyszka; Tag Ogren; Thad Ogren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Ruben (Dorothy) Carlson. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and four sisters. The family wishes to thank the staff of O.S.F. Hospice and Shirley and the staff at Davita Roxbury Dialysis.
