Evelyn D. Hollembeak, 103, of Belvidere, Illinois, passed away peacefully January 9, 2019 in Belvidere. Born to Frederick and Evelyn (Potter) Dummer September 1, 1915 in Bonesteel, South Dakota. She married the love of her life, Lawrence Hollembeak, for over 60 years in Belvidere.
Evelyn was raised on a farm and a farmer's wife. She worked
at Sanitary Scale in Belvidere for many years as a factory worker where they
produced scales for grocery stores. She also worked for Era Tool, Motorola in
Harvard and J F Clark. Evelyn also soldered and made circuit boards during her
career. Evelyn attended Faith Baptist and was also a charter member! She
enjoyed crafts, reading, and TV Guide crossword puzzles. She loved westerns
which stemmed from her South Dakota roots. Evelyn was a member of Highland
Hospital Auxiliary where she made crafts and worked in their gift shop.
Evelyn is survived by her son, Eugene "Gene" (E. Faye) Hollembeak; grandchildren, Nina (Jeff) Richardson, Bret (Jamie) Hollembeak, Curtis ( Cathy) Hollembeak, and Cathleen Paluzi; great grand-children, Thad Richardson, Sarah Jorgensen, Evelyn and Esther Joy Richardson, Benjamin and Max Hollembeak, Caleb, Joseph and Hannah Hollembeak, Zachary Hansen, Lydia and Vincent Castillo, Savanah and Rachel Brown and Erin Bonner; and daughter- in-law, Karen Hollembeak. in addition, there are twelve great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and sons, LeRoy and Roger Hollembeak; all of her seven siblings, John 'Johnny' (Julia) Dummer, Alice (Bert) Chambers, Fred 'Freddie' ( Alma) Dummer, Clarence (Elise) Summer, Melvin Summer, Blanche (Ralph) Chambers, and Wilmer (Sybil) Dummer; grandson, Lee Hollembeak; and granddaughter, Christine.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 15 at
Faith Baptist, 1637 7th Ave., Belvidere, IL, 61008. Vistation will
be from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. the day of service. Pastor Jeremy Weary will
officiate. Burial will be at Highland Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, memorials
to Berean Baptist Church, Faith Baptist Church and Northern Illinois Hospice. To
