Rockford, IllinoisEvelyn L. Fill, 97, of Rockford and formerly of Belvidere, IL died peacefully, Wednesday morning, April 19, 2006 in Wesley Willows Health Center. Evelyn was born October 13, 1908 in Belvidere the daughter of Joseph and Julia (Leitzell) Jarvis. Evelyn married Mr. Lester C. Fill on June 18, 1927 in Joliet, IL. Evelyn graduated form Belvidere High School and Northern Illinois University. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Lydia Circle of the church and a former member of Belvidere First United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was a soprano soloist. Evelyn was the first president of the Logan School P.T.A. and a member of the Highland Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.Survivors include her son, Robert (Carla) Fill of Rockford; granddaughter, Julie Arms of Atlanta, GA; grandson, James Fill of Rockford; great granddaughter Morgan East of Atlanta, GA; sister in-law, Muriel Jarvis and family of Belvidere. Evelyn is predeceased by her parents, husband, Lester, brother, Richard Jarvis.

Memorials can be given to Christ United Methodist Church or Wesley Willow's Good Samaritan Fund in her name.
