Eugene Edward Seele, 81, of Belvidere, IL passed away peacefully on July 14, 2018 in Rockford , Illinois. He was born May 1, 1937 to Walter and Alma (Pohl) Seele. Eugene married the love of his life, Susan Brown on August 26, 1956 in Lindenwood, Illinois.

Eugene graduated from high school in Monroe Center, Illinois. He was an independent contractor in construction for many years. He was a member of Christ The Rock Church in Rockford. His interests were woodworking, dart ball and traveling.

Eugene is dearly loved and missed by his wife, Susan; son, Robert (Tracy) Seele and daughters, Lori (Tim Zumbro) Nemec and Jodi (Russ) Ryks; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Seele, Theodore (Megan) Seele, Susan (Zakkery) Roethlisberg, Anthony Thurnau, Rachel (Timothy) Butts, Jon Ryks, Emily (Jacob) Bartkowiak, Jennifer Ryks, Kenneth Seele and Shelby Seele; and six great- grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wayne Nelson and Roger Seele; son-in-law, Dean Nemec; and nephews, Stuart Seele and Terry Seele.

Services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 18, at Christ The Rock Church, 8330 Newburg Rd, Rockford, IL 61108. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, at the church. Pastor Jacob Heine will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Christ The Rock Church and Rock Valley College Starlight Theater.
