Eugene "Sam" Carson, 84, of Belvidere, died Monday, December 10, 2012 in Swedish American Hospital, Belvidere. Born November 22, 1928 in Lee County, Iowa; son of James and Hattie (Zachmeyer) Carson. Married Velma Graham on February, 11, 1950 in Ft. Madison, Iowa. Served in the US Army. Sam worked as an inspector for Sundstrand Corp. in Belvidere and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed camping, traveling, and square dancing. Survivors include his son William (Lisa) of Spokane, WA; daughters Mary (James) Curtiss of Loves Park, and Nancy Carson of Sarasota, FL; grandchildren Tami Lynn Carson, Bridget Marie Clayton, and David Eugene LaBounty; sister Esther Snelson of Warrenton, MO. Predeceased by his parents, wife Velma, and 5 brothers.
