Esther (Hutmacher) DownsDowns – Esther Olive Downs, 80, Belvidere, IL died at 1 A.M. Tuesday April 10th, 2007, at Maple Crest following a short illness. Born in Elroy Il. April 20th 1926 daughter of Walter and Mabel (Pickard) Hutmacher. A 66-year resident of Belvidere. Esther married Arthur J. Downs June 25th 1966. Esther was member of the V.F.W. post 1461, member of the American Legion, and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 295. Esther enjoyed grandchildren and loved watching her great grandchildren play, traveling, socializing and was an avid bowler to many Belvidere leagues for over 30 years. Esther spent much time working at the various clubs she belonged to. Survivors include two daughters, Trudy (Dick) Alderman, of Freeport, Nancy (Tony) Bergman of Pahrump NV: three grandchildren, Ed (Jenn) Alderman of Freeport and Brian (Julie) Alderman of St. Louis MO and Kara (Jon) Stewart of TX.: six great grandchildren Baylee, Zane, Sydney, Elena, Carrera and Jasmine: one brother Maurice (Clarice) Hutmacher of Freeport. Her husband Arthur and one grandson Kyle predeceased her in death.
