Esmeralda Gallegos, 36, of Belvidere, IL passed away peacefully, Saturday, July 14, 2018 in Chicago, IL after a brave battle with cancer.  Esmeralda was born in Mexico on October 27, 1981 the daughter of Sergio Gallegos and Josefina Mendoza.  She married Jorge Gomez on August 18, 2001 in Belvidere and to the union three beautiful children were born.  Esmeralda loved to cook for her family and to take loving care of her husband and children.  She and her daughter, Ruby always decorated the Christmas Tree together; she enjoyed watching her son, Jorge, play the accordion in his band; and she enjoyed playing toys with her daughter, Perlita.  Esmeralda made her spiritual home at St. James Church in Belvidere.

Esmeralda is loved and will be missed by her husband, Jorge; children, Ruby, Jorge and Perlita; her mother, Josefina; siblings, Juvinaldo Gallegos, Alfredo Gallegos, Felix Gallegos, Belen Gallegos, Monica Gallegos; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Sergio Gallegos.

Visitation for Esmeralda will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 20, 2018 in Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Avenue, Belvidere, IL.  Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 21, 2018 at St. James Catholic Church, Belvidere, IL.  Burial in Belvidere Cemetery.  Memorials can be given in care of the family.  To share a memory, please visit www.Andersonfcs.com
