Belvidere, IllinoisEric J. Nevenhoven, 47, of Belvidere, IL died unexpectedly Friday afternoon, June 5, 2009 in UIC Medical Center-Chicago following a brain aneurism. Eric was born September 22, 1961 in Freeport, IL the son of James and Hattie (Ackerman) Nevenhoven. He graduated from Freeport high School and attended Northern Illinois University and married Kay M. Schwebke on July 6, 1996. Eric was a partner in Benchmark Flooring; was a member of the Belvidere Noon Rotary Club, Belvidere Planning Commission, B.R.E.W. - Beagle rescue. He loved to golf and had an extensive golf ball collection was an avid Chicago Bears fan and loved his beagles- Beatrice, Gabrielle and Jesse James.Eric will be deeply missed by his loving family that includes his wife, Kay of Belvidere; brothers, Gerald (Donna) Nevenhoven of Freeport, Ronald (Florence) Nevenhoven of St. Peters, MO, Larry (Sharon) Nevenhoven of Madison, WI; sisters, Patricia (John) Kirkpatrick of Virginia Beach, VA and Janet (Mike) Greenfield of Forreston, IL; Step brother, David (Joeline) Suess of Edwardsville, IL, mother in-law and father in-law, Mary and Moe Schwebke of Davenport, FL; sister in-law and brother in-law Kari and Darin Larson of Haines City, FL; special niece in-law, Esther Verstynen of Loves Park; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Eric is preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Emil Suess.The family wishes to acknowledge Dr. Eric Hess whose compassion will not be forgotten and the staff of the neurointensive care of UIC Medical Center for their kindness. Eric was a tissue and organ donor and through his gift, over 50 people will receive the gift of life.

A memorial fund will be established with the Belvidere Noon Rotary Club and BREW Beagle Rescue in Eric's memory.
