Emma J. Janisch, 81, Belvidere, Ill. died Tuesday, July 8, 2008 in her home following a long illness. Born April 21, 1927 in Hillsview, SD, the daughter of Karl and Mary (Gabriel) Zimmerman. She married Verlyn G. "Jim" Janisch in Ipswich, SD on July 18, 1945. She was employed as an assembler for GTE and later a cook for Dog-N-Suds. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards and bingo. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann Gleason, Belvidere; three sons, Dennis (Diana) Janisch, Belvidere; LeRoy (Lillian) Janisch, Cherry Valley; Verlyn J. (Cathy) Janisch, Belvidere; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Fannie Gisie and Anna Janisch. Emma is preceded in death by her parents, husband a son, Kenneth; two grandsons, Chad Janisch and Kyle Easterby; three sisters and six brothers.
