Elwyn H. Degner, 79, of Garden Prairie, entered into eternal life Friday, October 21, 2011 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born December 20, 1931 in Dixon, IL, son of Daniel and Eleanor (Eich) Degner. Married Dorothy Dummer on March 7, 1953 in Belvidere. Retired from Walker-Schork in Rochelle. Member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Order of the Moose, Belvidere Lodge #295. Elwyn was an avid fisherman and bowler, loved golf and horseshoes and was a Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Kahn and Julie "Lucy" Carlson and the staff at the OSF St. Anthony Cancer Center for your love and compassionate care. Survivors include his loving wife Dorothy, daughter Connie Degner of Roanoke, TX, sons Danny (Gale) Degner of Loves Park, and Ron Degner of Cherry Valley.Predeceased by his parents and sisters Lois and Roselyn.
