Elvin A. "Tootsie" Waits, 86, of Belvidere, died suddenly on Saturday, February 4, 2012 in his home. He was born on December 29, 1925 in Mohawk, Tennessee; the son of Samuel and Mollie (Sipe) Waits. Elvin was married to Josie R. Pinkston in Mohawk, Tennessee on July 15, 1955. He was a machinist for Central Rubber Co. for 42 years retiring in 1991. "Tootsie" is a veteran of WWII serving in the Navy and the Korean War serving in the Army. He is survived by his two daughters, Pauletta (Charles "Butch") Franta and Vernetta (Jim) Mashinter, six grandchildren; five great grandchildren plus one on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, four sisters, Essie Waits, Burell Waits, Stella Voiles and Taleda Voiles and five brothers, G.R. Waits Willie B. "Bill" Waits, S.J. Waits, Kenneth Waits and L.V. Waits.
