Elsie L. Paulson, 88, a longtime resident of Belvidere, died Thursday, May 6, 2010 in her home following a long illness. She was born on June 17, 1921 in Byron, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Nettie (Moore) Cuplin. Elsie attended Byron Schools. She married Alfred A. Paulson in Roscoe, Illinois on October 12, 1947. Elsie worked for twenty years as a retail clerk in the Toy Department of Union Hall. She retired in 1986. She is survived by three daughters, Marie (David) Swanson, Troy, NY; Sharon Williams, Stillman Valley, IL and Pam (Russell) DiBenedetto, Rockford, IL; ten grandchildren; nineteen, great-grandchildren; a sister, Esther Munk, Leaf River, IL and longtime friends, Lowell and Ruth Baxter. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry Cuplin and Nettie (Moore) Cuplin Knapply; her husband on December 24, 1979; son-in-law, Art Williams; four sisters, Vivian Krull; Thelma Roos; Betty Jane Cuplin; and a sister in infancy.
