Belvidere, IllinoisElsie M. Dittbenner, 83, of Belvidere, IL died Saturday morning, April 14, 2007 in Biltmore Rehabilitation Center after a lingering illness. Elsie was born October 23, 1923 in Bridgeport, Illinois the daughter of Newton and Bertha (Abbott) Johnson. She married Donald Dittbenner on May 8, 1943 in Vincennes, Indiana. Donald preceded her in death on July 31, 1949. Elsie retired from Champion International in 1982 after 32 years of service. Elsie was a member of Central Christian Church and Local 1290 where she held the position of Secretary/Treasurer for 18 years. Elsie enjoyed bowling with her friends on the Monday Night Gala Gals League at Dodge Lanes and spending time at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with family.Survivors include her children, Donald (Barb) Dittbenner of Belvidere, Patricia (Richard) Stoll of Rochelle, August (Evelyn) Dittbenner of Conway, South Carolina; nine grandchildren, Staci Rochon, Laurel Frazier, Susan Degelau, John Stoll, Carrie Smart, Timothy Stoll, Beth Petrach, Tina Morgan, August R. Dittbenner; nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; sister, Julia Tomlinson of Vincennes, IN as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
