Elmyr Morelock, 82, of Caledonia, died Saturday, August 20, 2011 in Swedish-American Hospital, Belvidere following a sudden illness. He was born on April 26, 1929 in rural Ogle County, Illinois; the son of Elbert and Katherine (Robbinson) Morelock. He was married to Betty Dulgar in Greenville, Tennessee on October 29, 1946. Elmyr farmed most of his life and retired in 1993. Following retirement, he owned E & M Heating Co. from 1995 to the present. He served the community of Northern Boone County for thirty five years as a fireman. Thirty of those years as Fire Chief of North Boone Fire District 3. Elmyr was a member of the Boone County Farm Bureau; Northern Illinois Vintage Tractor Club; A 4-H Leader and member of the Boone County Fair Association. His hobbies included weakend Tractor pulling. Elmyr is survived by his wife, Betty, of Caledonia; five sons, Bruce (Janet), of Poplar Grove, IL; Brad (Phylis) Caledonia; Randy (Sandy) Crivitz, WI; Jeff of Caledonia; and Greg (Jolene) Morelock of Caledonia; two daughters, Belinda (Larry) Flitcroft, Delavan, WI and Julie (Rob) Goeddeke, Poplar Grove, IL; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren and 5 step, great-grandchildren; a brother, Harry Morelock and a sister, Katherine Carter; a special friend who was like a son to Elmyr, Chuck Johnson, of Capron, IL. Elmyr was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and four sisters.
