Elmer Earl Friend, 88, of Belvidere, IL passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Elmer was born on March 11, 1926 in Follansbee, West Virginia to Samuel and Ora (Nease) Friend. He married the love of his life Audrey Renz on March 4, 1956 in Belvidere, Illinois. Elmer proudly served in the Army Air Corps and enjoyed spending time woodworking, reading and being active in the Eastern Star and Masons.
Elmer is deeply loved and will be missed by his children; son, Kevin (Kimberly) Friend of Belvidere, IL and his daughter, Tracy (Van) Carpenter of Loves Park, IL; grandchildren, Kristopher, Korbin, Blake, Zander and Halo. Many special nieces and nephews, dear friends and neighbors. Elmer is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Audrey, and his siblings.
